Seniors for Seniors
Our "Seniors for Seniors" adoption program places mature cats (typically over 7 years of age) with qualified senior citizens who are 60 years of age or older. Research tells us that companion animals, like cats, can help improve our physical and mental health. By adopting a new "best friend", you can experience the benefits of decreased heart rate and blood pressure that so many people feel when relaxing with their pets. Marty's Cat Rescue volunteer staff will help you select a companion that fits into your lifestyle and housing situation. Our Seniors for Seniors program waives the adoption fee, and includes many benefits to help seniors who are living on a fixed income. With each adoption, your companion will be spayed or neutered and will receive vaccinations before they go home with you. For more information about our Seniors for Seniors adoption program, please email our President, Peggy Geyer. Senior centers and program coordinators are encouraged to contact Marty's Cat Rescue to learn more about the program.
